KSV1870 SmartServices & parking space management

‘Free-flow parking’ is the contactless parking system of the future. The technology captures the license plates of vehicles entering and exiting the car park electronically so that no paper tickets are needed to pay the parking fee. Digital payment options translate into more convenience for your customers, make pay stations redundant, and reduce operating costs on account of the barrier systems used. ‘Free-flow parking’ is a solution based on ecological criteria and thus reflects the spirit of the times.

Parking management at the cutting-edge

The world is becoming increasingly digital, and so is the automotive industry. Especially in recent years, vehicles have increasingly become networked all-rounders. The infrastructure outside the car should not be lagging behind. It’s all about being more mobile, smarter, more efficient. Whether parking lot, multi-story car park, or underground parking garage, camera-based software now makes it possible not only to keep an eye on various types of car parks, but also to manage them professionally and efficiently – the benefits range from automatic capture of vehicles entering the car park to digital payment of parking fees.

Such developments are increasingly giving rise to new business models. Hybrid parking management at the supermarket around the corner is one example. As usual, customers park free of charge for up to two hours during the day or during opening hours, whereas, during the night, parking spaces are available for a fee. However, ‘free-flow parking’ can be easily implemented at airports or toll stations as well. The system allows for barrier-free entry and exit or transit, which prevents the traffic flow from coming to a standstill and avoids long waiting times. The best thing about it is that all these applications are digital, resulting in significantly lower operating costs, are virtually maintenance-free, and require virtually no costly, high-maintenance hardware.

You can count on our support not only during the implementation of your upcoming parking management projects, but also after successful completion. From invoicing to reminders for outstanding receivables, we look out for you and your money’s best interests.

The digital workaround

Workable solutions are needed to ensure that this parking management system of the future does not fail on account of not finding a way to collect outstanding ticket fees or fines. KSV1870 has developed a digital service for parking space operators so that they can effectively outsource their entire receivables and fines management.

  • Parking space control: Design and integration with parking space management systems for ungated parking areas.
  • Receivables management: To make full use of the synergies described above, KSV1870 SmartServices offer a digital solution that allows operators to outsource the entire fine management. Through a number of interfaces to the parking management software, KSV1870 receives the misdemeanour data automatically on a daily basis, license plate numbers are identified, and the fee notices are sent by post on behalf of the parking space operator. Payments are monitored, reminders are sent in the event of non-payment, and, in a final step, debts are passed on for debt recovery. If necessary, the debt recovery department will file trespassing charges. For this purpose, KSV1870 keeps a complete file (including photographs as evidence) on the offence committed and combines several offences in one debtor account.
  • Complaint management: Customer information and information from the offence file is made available via the KSV1870 SmartServices customer portal. This customer portal offers up-to-date information on any processing performed and shows both the history of the offence file and the parking offender so that the parking lot or parking garage operator is able to keep track of all cases, provide information on the phone, and also actively intervene in matters concerning the offence file by setting reminder blocks or changing payment due dates.
  • Reporting: The customer portal provides multidimensional evaluation options.

Combining experience and state-of-the-art technology to ensure quality

KSV1870 relies on state-of-the-art technologies and many years of experience in fiduciary account management to ensure that project handling is as smart as the parking process itself. It also takes quality assurance measures to ensure the necessary reliability: measures can include posting payments to a virtual bank account for clear allocation or double-entry bookkeeping. Collaboration with regional partners in receivables management is also a way to ensure success.

In cooperation with Wipark and Arivo, we hosted this webinar (German only) to show you what modern parking space management looks like today.
