Statement on accessibility – ksv.at
KSV1870 Information GmbH endeavours to make its web applications accessible in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz - BaFG) and Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.
This statement on accessibility applies to the website www.ksv.at.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament, since not all requirements have been fully met. Any incompatibilities are listed below (see "non-accessible content").
In addition, several WCAG 2.2 success criteria have already been taken into account to improve accessibility beyond the minimum legal requirements. These include:
- SC 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured – Focus indicators are always visible when using the keyboard and are not hidden due to other content.
- SC 2.5.7 Dragging Movements – Accessible alternatives are available for drag-and-drop actions.
- SC 2.5.8 Target Size – Interactive elements (e.g. buttons) have a minimum size of 24 × 24 CSS pixels.
- SC 3.2.6 Consistent Help – Help options and contact possibilities are consistently integrated.
- SC 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication – Authentication processes are accessible without purely visual or transcription-based challenges.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
a) Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Third-party component: Chatbot “Marie”
The integrated chatbot is supplied by an external provider. Currently, there are limitations regarding keyboard navigation and focus visibility (especially when initially opening the dialog) as well as missing alternative text for the avatar. Efforts are underway to implement an accessible solution in cooperation with the provider. - Editorial image descriptions
New content is consistently provided with alternative text. Some older content may still lack proper or sufficient alternative text. Editorial corrections will be made over time. - Non-accessible PDF documents
Some older PDF files on the website are not yet fully compliant with the PDF/UA standard. In particular, they may lack tags, the correct reading order, or alternative text. Newly published PDFs are created in an accessible format when possible.
b) The content falls outside the scope of applicable legal provisions
Some content originates from third parties, especially embedded forms or documents provided by other organisations. Since these are not under the direct control of KSV1870 Holding AG, they fall outside the scope of Directive (EU) 2016/2102. Therefore, no reliable statements can be made regarding their accessibility.
c) Disproportionate burden
Some audiovisual content (e.g. embedded videos) currently does not include an audio description as required by WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description – Prerecorded).
The retroactive creation and integration of audio descriptions for certain content would constitute a disproportionate burden according to the Web Accessibility Act. As an accessible alternative, text descriptions providing equivalent information are provided.
